JUSTIN KASAKERA


Justin Kasereka alias Justkas is a visual artist based in Goma in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Kinshasa.

When we met in Goma in 2018, we bonded a pretty strong relationship with Justin and his loved ones. We have stayed in touch and we are now helping him by providing him with creative materials. You should know that obtaining certain types of materials when you are in Goma is not an easy thing; beyond an exorbitant cost, the materials are simply not available.

We also chose one of his illustrations for the cover of our album Millions in 2019. So there is a contract binding Justin and us around the use of his gorilla illustration which allows him to collect royalties on sales from our "Millions" album, t-shirts, and sweatshirts.

AFA CROHN


AFA Crohn RCH France is the name of the François Aupetit association, the only national association that supports and informs Crohn's and ulcerative colitis patients and their relatives, defends their rights, and funds research.

We've met Fred of the Ogres de Barback many times throughout our career. When he took it into his head to do the New York Marathon in 2019 in an attempt to raise public awareness of these diseases, we decided to make a donation to the association, failing to be able to run the New York Marathon with him!

ECOLE DES FRÈRES CHAPPES


Saint-Étienne (42), France


The Chappe School-Museum is a very atypical school from Saint-Etienne, with an original and daring project: to bring urban art back into the school, and to involve artists (visual artists, musicians, street artists, etc.) and children to the joint creation of a "museum" school. This public establishment, which brings together a real social mix within a popular district of Saint-Étienne, has succeeded in making itself known thanks to the intervention of many artists who have been able to create works around projects with the students. For 4 years, more than 25 national and international artists have passed through the Chappe School-Museum and left more than 85 works there.

The idea of conveying a message, sharing ideas around art and concrete creation within the classes really pleased the members of Dub Inc who wanted to participate in their own way, alongside the educational team. The interest is also to participate in local actions close to us.
A few classes therefore worked on a text and a song by the group, "Exil", around its instrumental background but also its message, so that the musicians would then come and spend a day with the children, discuss the piece with them, listen to their interpretation, and finally, give a small performance for all.

COLLECTES ET PARTAGES


Auray (Morbihan, France)


The actions of the association Collectes et Partages are essentially devoted to helping deprived children in Senegal and Niger through 3 main objectives:
* Food: fighting against malnutrition,
* Education: fighting against illiteracy, renovating and assisting with the creation of classrooms,
* Assistance with nurseries.
The actions of Collectes & Partages aspire to favor long term aid as much as possible.

We got to know about this association through Karine and Laurent, whom we have met regularly at our concerts for a few years. Education and schooling, their main objectives, are very important to us and in the end it was quite natural to provide our support. Especially since the transparency they show, especially through the photos they send us regularly, is very appreciable, it makes things concrete for us.

ANEPOS Action Solidarité Grèce


Since 2009, the artistic and solidarity collective group ANEPOS, based in the Tarn, the Bouches-du-Rhône and in Athens, Greece, has carried out hundreds of actions in Greece in partnership with around forty social collectives which are getting organized in the face of austerity: free self-managed medical dispensaries, mutual aid against evictions, free solidarity kitchens, self-managed social centers, accommodation and support actions for people in exile... One of the highlights is the establishment of a solidarity convoy each year (several dozen trucks) reaching Greece with food, hygiene or baby products, etc.

The Saint-Etienne association La Dérive echoed this initiative, by setting up a local fundraiser. Our project has led us to play in Greece very regularly for nearly fifteen years, so it seemed obvious to us to participate in this fundraising event.

SELAM


Rabat (Maroc) / Saint-Étienne (France)


An initiative around activities that facilitate meetings and exchanges (sporting events, cultural projects, organization of events) has been set up in parallel in Rabat and Saint Etienne.
This double location makes it possible to be part of a globally thought-out situation and to apprehend everyday life more calmly, here and there.
By trying to create links and encounters through socio-cultural projects, Selam! seeks to highlight individual and collective identities and journeys... A way to promote exchange, living together, and resilience.

Knowing the members of the Selam association and the Amicale Laïque de Tardy, we learned of their intention to organize a solidarity Christmas meal for unaccompanied minors and volunteers from several migrant aid groups. We therefore decided to pay for the errands making it possible to make a success of this festive time at the end of the year.

COLLECTIF SOLIDARITÉ / MAISON POUR TOUS


Planfoy (42), France


A collective group was founded in the village of Planfoy (8 km from Saint Etienne) following the arrival of the Mile family from Albania. After their asylum application was rejected in November 2018, the family found themselves on the street, hence the need to look for sponsors to provide them with a roof over their heads.
The collective group works to support this family in its administrative procedures and to meet certain material or housing needs. The family participates fully in local life by volunteering with the Secours Populaire, helping for example with the manufacture of masks; the children are enrolled in school and the village crèche.

Jérémie, our guitarist, is from the village of Planfoy - that's where he grew up and still lives. He necessarily feels close to local initiatives.
Knowing the actors of the collective group, and being sensitive to this support system, he naturally offered to contribute. No reason to refuse.
