AGORAÉ / FASEE

The AGORAÉ of Saint-Étienne is a space for exchange and solidarity articulated around a student grocery store and a living space, managed entirely by the FASEE (Fédération des Associations de Saint-Étienne).
Aimed at all students in precarious situations, this social and solidarity grocery store aims to allow students to obtain food, hygiene or cleaning basic necessities easily and at very low cost. A living space also welcomes students, with board games, books, entertainment, tea and coffee!
To be able to become a beneficiary, you will need to complete an application file. It can be downloaded from the Saint-Étienne AGORAÉ Facebook website or can be picked up in hard copy directly from the solidarity grocery store.
It should be noted that this project is a national initiative led by the FAGE (Federation of General Student Associations). There are currently 34 AGORAÉ in France!

Throughout our tours, we meet many students who come to see us in concert, in fact we have always been very closely connected to the student world. We were already very sensitive to the difficulties of students in their daily lives, but watching reports on social media about how students experienced the previous lockdowns motivated us to try and do something.
We contacted two student associations (Agoraé in Saint-Étienne and Épicampus in Dijon) to donate part of the profits from our concert at La Vapeur in Dijon in May 2022.

The Johnson Academy has been helping more than 180 children aged 6 to 18 for the past 8 years in the neighborhoods of Cova da Moura and Zambujal, in the suburbs of Lisbon.
Through sport (futsal and basketball) and education (via help with homework), they provide young people with strong values, thus empowering them to free themselves from the determinism of the ghettos where they grow up.

Portugal is a country where we have been playing regularly since 2006. We asked Fernando Cabral (our Portuguese tour manager) to tell us about a local association that he found relevant.

He introduced us to Johnson's work in the Cova Da Moura neighborhood in Amadora. We then invited young people from the neighborhood to our May 2022 show in Lisbon and made a donation to the association from funds raised during our previous concert in Dijon.

Their mission: to defend marine life

From the smallest creatures to the giants of the seas, Sea Shepherd's mission is to protect all the species that inhabit our oceans. Sea Shepherd's campaigns focus on defending whales, dolphins, seals, sharks, penguins, turtles, fish, krill, and seabirds from poaching, unsustainable fishing, habitat destruction, and captivity.

Règles élémentaires is a French association that fights against menstrual precariousness, and the taboo of menstruation.

Collect & Redistribute

Règles élémentaires' first mission is to allow everyone to organise their own collection of sanitary pads. We then ensure the redistribution via our partner associations throughout France.

Raising awareness

Raising awareness is an essential, important mission to our charity. One of our objectives is to break the taboo of menstruation, and this goes through speech, education, and information. Through workshops, events or content creation, we put our expertise at the service of raising awareness.

LES 4 ROUES ASSOCIATION

The charity was created in 2000 by residents, their families and staff members of the Maison Bleue, a living centre for disabled people in Saint-Pourçain, in Puy de Dôme.
The purpose of this self-managed charity is to promote projects and the integration of people with reduced mobility, who are residents of the institution.

Several projects have been carried out: production of short films, adapted skiing, wheelchair football, Cimgo Open de France (machines allowing people with disabilities to venture on all types of terrain for hiking or walking).

EMMAÜS

Identity

Emmaüs was born 74 years ago to help people who are victims of various phenomena of exclusion, in order to find solutions that allow them to become actors in their lives again. Faithful to the will of Abbé Pierre, Emmaüs has become both a factory of social innovations and solidarity to help people in very precarious situations, and a committed, militant front in favour of a more humane and fairer society model.

Snowboarders from around the world have come together through Snowboarders Of Solidarity to help young Afghan snowboarders escape death threats and immediate danger in their home country, in the face of the recent Taliban takeover.
Members of the Afghan Snowboard Team were able to flee the country. Some have been given asylum in Canada, the United States, Germany and Sweden, but others are still waiting in third countries for their visa to be accepted, including 7 people in Pakistan.

These young refugee athletes (between 18 and 25 years old), women and men, defenders of women's rights and human rights through sport and education, had to leave everything behind: their family, friends, studies, savings.

Thanks to their shared passion, the charity has implemented a follow-up in order to support them in their administrative procedures. They also provide them with daily support by paying for accommodation and food.

Zigo (Dub inc's drummer) learned about this initiative while listening to Victor Diavet's interview on the Les Baladeurs podcast. Everyone in the band was deeply moved by the journey of the young Afghan snowboarders and the determination of the whole Snowboarders Of Solidarity team, so we decided to support them in their fight.

Center for Children in Need SAINTE THÉRÈSE

The Sainte Thérèse de Loumbila Center for Children in Need, located near Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso) and founded in 1995, is a facility that welcomes and supports orphans and children in distress from 0 to 18 years old.
Its objectives are to educate and train orphans and/or underprivileged children; to support children from vulnerable families with donations; to provide shelter, food, and clothing.
Beyond material aid, the project is aimed at facilitating the integration of children into society, by making them autonomous and responsible.

In 2017, we went to play in Ouagadougou as part of the "Rendez-vous chez nous" festival. Singer Alif Naaba, with whom we made a song ("Enfants des ghettos" on Paradise), came with us on that journey and showed us around the center he was sponsoring. We were moved by the team's incredible work, their benevolence towards the children, the energy they deployed to ensure schooling, their management of the nursery, and also by the development of a local economy with such initiatives as growing spirulina, or setting up a bakery and pizzeria.

The "La Sapinière" Medico-educational Institute welcomes children and teenagers aged 5 to 20 with moderate to severe intellectual impairment and possibly other difficulties, in particular disorders of relationship and behavior, autism, and other related disorders.
The sports and cultural association within the institute offers educational and cultural outings, organizing in particular the Sapidays festival, a two-day event that sheds the spotlight on the Sapinière facility in a friendly atmosphere.

We were asked to do a support concert for the benefit of the association as part of the Sapidays festival; but it was not possible for us to respond positively. Nevertheless, we found the initiative moving and interesting, so we decided to make a one-time donation to the association.

GOM'ACTIF

Young artists, musicians, journalists, traders, humanitarian workers, bankers, activists, and committed citizens are trying to help the population of Goma in the face of the coronavirus epidemic.
They also provided assistance to populations most in need during and after the eruption of the Nyiragongo volcano.

After our visit to the Amani festival in the city of Goma, we kept a lot of links with local cultural actors; we were very sensitive to the collective group that had been set up spontaneously in order to help the population.
