Snowboarders from around the world have come together through Snowboarders Of Solidarity to help young Afghan snowboarders escape death threats and immediate danger in their home country, in the face of the recent Taliban takeover.
Members of the Afghan Snowboard Team were able to flee the country. Some have been given asylum in Canada, the United States, Germany and Sweden, but others are still waiting in third countries for their visa to be accepted, including 7 people in Pakistan.

These young refugee athletes (between 18 and 25 years old), women and men, defenders of women's rights and human rights through sport and education, had to leave everything behind: their family, friends, studies, savings.

Thanks to their shared passion, the charity has implemented a follow-up in order to support them in their administrative procedures. They also provide them with daily support by paying for accommodation and food.

Zigo (Dub inc's drummer) learned about this initiative while listening to Victor Diavet's interview on the Les Baladeurs podcast. Everyone in the band was deeply moved by the journey of the young Afghan snowboarders and the determination of the whole Snowboarders Of Solidarity team, so we decided to support them in their fight.

Center for Children in Need SAINTE THÉRÈSE

The Sainte Thérèse de Loumbila Center for Children in Need, located near Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso) and founded in 1995, is a facility that welcomes and supports orphans and children in distress from 0 to 18 years old.
Its objectives are to educate and train orphans and/or underprivileged children; to support children from vulnerable families with donations; to provide shelter, food, and clothing.
Beyond material aid, the project is aimed at facilitating the integration of children into society, by making them autonomous and responsible.

In 2017, we went to play in Ouagadougou as part of the "Rendez-vous chez nous" festival. Singer Alif Naaba, with whom we made a song ("Enfants des ghettos" on Paradise), came with us on that journey and showed us around the center he was sponsoring. We were moved by the team's incredible work, their benevolence towards the children, the energy they deployed to ensure schooling, their management of the nursery, and also by the development of a local economy with such initiatives as growing spirulina, or setting up a bakery and pizzeria.

The "La Sapinière" Medico-educational Institute welcomes children and teenagers aged 5 to 20 with moderate to severe intellectual impairment and possibly other difficulties, in particular disorders of relationship and behavior, autism, and other related disorders.
The sports and cultural association within the institute offers educational and cultural outings, organizing in particular the Sapidays festival, a two-day event that sheds the spotlight on the Sapinière facility in a friendly atmosphere.

We were asked to do a support concert for the benefit of the association as part of the Sapidays festival; but it was not possible for us to respond positively. Nevertheless, we found the initiative moving and interesting, so we decided to make a one-time donation to the association.

GOM'ACTIF

Young artists, musicians, journalists, traders, humanitarian workers, bankers, activists, and committed citizens are trying to help the population of Goma in the face of the coronavirus epidemic.
They also provided assistance to populations most in need during and after the eruption of the Nyiragongo volcano.

After our visit to the Amani festival in the city of Goma, we kept a lot of links with local cultural actors; we were very sensitive to the collective group that had been set up spontaneously in order to help the population.

The Maison Solidaire provides material and human support to refugees, migrants, homeless people, as well as people in a situation of medical, psychological or social distress. The facility strives to welcome people decently, whether in terms of accommodation, access to care, and schooling. It also ensures the quality of care.


In our city of Saint Etienne, anybody who is sensitive to this type of cause knows the Maison Solidaire and their work. It is therefore quite logical and natural that we try and help the association in different ways, through regular donations, inviting young people staying at the facility to our concerts in Saint-Étienne, or by offering sweatshirts or t-shirts from the band.

ABOMEY SCHOOL SUPPORT

The goal is to identify young people from primary schools to university around their academic abilities but with financial difficulties that would prevent them from continuing a course up to their results.
This is how, for almost 10 years, around ten young students have been followed, sometimes on a long-term basis, to help them cover their tuition fees (school materials, enrollment in higher education, student housing, etc.).

Komlan, one of the two singers of Dub inc, is from the region of Abomey in Benin and is the son of the initiator of this approach to help with schooling, which the collective continues today.
It was important for him to raise awareness and involve the band, which definitely relates to the values ​​of education and support promoted by the collective group.

MakiGo is an international participatory network at the service of wildlife. The association was founded in 2017 with four specific objectives in mind:
"SUPPORTING biodiversity through our various campaigns and missions,
RAISING AWARENESS as much as possible, and making our way of existing evolve into a way of coexisting,
GIVING opportunities to act concretely in endangered ecosystems,
REPRESENTING a source of information for the international community sharing our values."

SOS Méditerranée is a European civil society organization for search and rescue operations on the high seas. It was founded in 2015 by citizens wishing to act and put an end to shipwrecks in the central Mediterranean.
The organization pursues three missions: to save lives, to protect survivors, and to bear witness to the situation at sea. Its foundations are based on fundamental human rights, maritime law, and duty to rescue, beyond international and national regulatory policies.
SOS Méditerranée has organized rescue operations by chartering the Aquarius (until December 2018) and Ocean Viking vessels (from 2019).

In 2019, we also organized a support concert with Jahneration at La Vapeur in Dijon, and we regularly invite SOS Méditerranée during our tours to allow them to communicate with our public.

The association aims to promote and facilitate access for children with cerebral palsy to treatment or therapy, in order to improve their motor and intellectual abilities.
They also wish to share knowledge on the methods and application of functional rehabilitation for children suffering from brain damage.
Since 2008, they have encouraged behavioral change actions, both individual and collective, giving access to treatment or promoting its distribution, for Sélim and any other child with cerebral palsy.


Idir (the keyboardist of the band) met Sélim for the first time in 2013. Sélim soon came to our studio with his father Kader to meet us, explain Sélim's situation, and the struggle of their association.
We were very touched by his situation and the energy they have spent for years to find the funds that allow Sélim to access care.

UTOPIA 56

Calais, Dijon, Grande Synthe, Lille, Paris, Renne, Toulouse, Tours, Lorient (France)

Utopia 56 is an organization created in November 2015 in Brittany to supervise the voluntary work which was then deployed in the "jungle" of Calais.
Every day, more than 200 volunteers and hosts are mobilized day and night in 8 branches. They come to the aid of people in exile, as well as those isolated on the street, unconditionally and without distinction of administrative status.
The Utopia 56 branch in Tours has been in existence since 2017 and specializes in access to the rights of unaccompanied minors whose access has been refused by child welfare and who end up on the street.
More than 1,400 young people have thus been able to be sheltered since the creation of the branch.
